Conceptual Design
We’re planning for all user types, with design features ranging from accessible paths to skateable stadium stairs. Other site features include a learn-to-ride plaza, skate and pump track lounges. This park will become the heart of the Firefly community, with regional trail connections allowing access to various neighborhoods and the concurrently planned Firefly Downhill Bike Park.
The Wheels Park is currently under construction, with anticipated opening in the Fall of 2024.
Learning Zone
At Firefly, we put Family First.
We believe active families mean more engaged, healthy kids. The Wheels Park can be a place where the entire family feels welcome and engaged. This means designing for diverse options for all skill levels, creating developmental opportunities for newbies/very young children, and providing safe, comfortable spaces for guardian/non-athletes to be.
Pump Track
We also are striving to create an icon in the Salt Lake Valley.
We’re designing a truly unique Wheels Park that seamlessly integrates bike, skate, and all other wheel types to set it apart from other skateparks in SLV.
This means integrate the adjacent landscape, while keeping ridability at the forefront of design for a park that brings people back again and again.
Skate Bowls
We brought in our skate partner Evergreen Skate Parks and collaborated to create a fun, flowing skate park that compliments the 5,500 sq. ft. Avid Pump Track next to it. The track features a concrete berm, a unique spine feature, and transfers directly into the skate area for those who want to seamlessly mix up the disciplines.
