Trails Master Plan
The City of Mapleton Trails Master Plan builds upon the community desires revealed in previous planning work, solving gaps and providing a road map for trail development in Mapleton over the next 20 years. The plan focuses primarily on open spaces and city-owned land within the Bench area, also recognizing a need for connectivity within the city. When fully realized, this trail system will enhance the health and well-being of the community, creating a more complete and unified city in the process. The community engagement aspect of this project was a huge success. The public survey had the highest response rate in City history. In addition to an inventory of existing trails and design of new trails, the comprehensive master plan includes trail design guidelines and signage standards. The plan was officially adopted November 1, 2023.

Mapleton Bike Park
The City of Mapleton also hired Avid Trails to plan and design a 40-acre bike park for city’s residents and beyond. The bike park includes downhill mountain bike trails, an adventure play and obstacle course area, pump tracks, and jump lines. When realized, the park will provide a close-to-home trail experience that caters to mountain bikers of all abilities—from beginners to expert riders. The park will also connect into the existing and future trail system within Mapleton and the surrounding communities.
