Newfield

Port St. Lucie, Florida

Newfield is a 3,400 acre master planned community in Martin County, FL. The innovative development is designated as a new town for more than 10,000 residents, featuring a town center, 4,000 homes, and (of particular interest to our team), nearly 2,800 acres of open space. This open space includes a 1,200 acre preserve area – a trails mecca. Our team is collaborating with a variety of consultants in order to develop a unique, enjoyable, and sustainable trails and recreation system for this new community.

Initial construction of trails began 2023, and the first phase of homes are anticipated in early 2024.

Trails and Recreation Planning

When fully realized, this trail system will provide seamless connectivity to all major destinations on the site. Residents will have the opportunity to walk, bike, and even kayak to trails, all within a 5 minute walk from their house. The trail system will have a variety of trailheads and community access points, which our team is also designing.

Signage and Wayfinding

As these trails come into fruition, we’re also designing signage and wayfinding to ensure simple, clear navigation for residents and visitors. The initial phase includes over 7 miles of trail in the nature preserve known as the “Kiplinger Conservancy.” Future trail development phases will include connections to the development as well as other open spaces on the property.

Camp Newfield

In addition to the trail network and trailheads, our team is working on design for a community campground. The campground is unique in that Newfield residents will have the opportunity to experience nature, all while less than 5 minutes from their home.
